According to Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, one of the most important indications of the Imam’s (‘a) cry is that is shows us the connection which he had with his Lord and with the other realms of existence.
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi has stated in this regard: When we examine the line of «مرصد للتّلاقي», which means one who is ready for the meeting, we find that it can be in reference to the meeting with the Angel of Death or with Allah.
In any case, this shows us that the pure soul of Imam Ali (‘a) was not connected at all with this passing and material world. It was rather connected with the other realms of existence, including the world of angels and with the Lord Himself.
