Every year I come across many Muslims who share on their stories the alleged recommendation of the Holy Prophet to fast on the day of Ashura accompanied by narrations that promise immense rewards and give some reasons as to why one should fast.
Furthermore a small faction of Muslims celebrate the day of Ashura and plan their celebratory events on that day (such as weddings etc).
I came across a short but thorough analysis of the narration that promotes this and it’s total refutation.
Written by Sayyid Saeed Akhter Rizvi, it is a brilliant short but complete analysis and refutation.
