To arbaeen I wish..

I wish I was a pigeon..
I would fly to your land
Circle around the dome
And sit on the holy sand

I wish I was a pigeon..
I would coo your salutations
Hum in your praise
And cry with lamentations

I wish I was a pigeon
I would nibble on the grains
Thrown by your pilgrims
And get cure of my pains

I wish I was a near angel
Tasked with your visitation
Day and night at your shrine
In awe of your magnificence

But for now, from afar
I send you my Salam
Accept my humble greeting
Make my tumultuous heart calm

It hurts to be away
But so be it for now
I will salute you from here
Until again on your threshold I bow..
