(salam)

Asraaf (wastage) is an everyday problem that we witness wherever we go. It seems that among the calamities that has befallen believers in this era is thanklessness of the innumerable blessings showered upon us resulting in asraaf!

Here is an example:

So i ask:

1. How can asraaf be avoided in the case of niyaaz gatherings in imambargahs, mehfils and homes?
2. What happens to the left over food that remains in such gatherings?
3. What happens to the food that is dropped on the floor, like shown in the photo above?

Interesting questions.

Cook delicious food? ;)

Nah, seriously tho what we can do is have the volunteers do checks in the mosque when people are eating. Anybody who stands up without cleaning his plate should be publicly told to finish his food. The embarrassment the first time will convince him not to repeat.
What happens to the left over food that remains in such gatherings?
I believe it is given to the poor

Agreed, now that they give bottled water instead of in glasses
