Please refer to the Quran, 41:9-12. Allah describes the creation of the earth, then the mountains and everything in the earth, then the heavenly bodies... I'm not saying it's necessarily chronological. Maybe God likes describing it in that order for a reason. What reason? I don't know. Time for tadabbur, I guess.

If Allah assists you, there is none that can overcome you; and if He forsakes you, then who is there that can assist you after Him? And on Allah should the believers rely (Qur'an 3:160)
