When a person fasts, his conscience pricks him in the face of evil deeds, and he is more able to resist temptations thus developing a strong willpower.
Further, the fasts make him think of the Creator more, develops his inclinations for charity and makes him taste the sweetness of obedience to the Lord.

Every time I sit down to think about fasting, it amazes me over and over again. The basic rules of fasting are such that an able and adult person has to abstain from things that are normally allowed, from sunrise to sunset. Like food and drinks.

Will power, mentioned by Muhaddisa is the ability of a person to be a master of his actions and habits, as opposed to the vice versa. I believe that when a person does manage to abstain for a continuous month, from every sunrise to sunset, things that are normally allowed, then abstaining from unlawful things should not present his will power with any challenge.

I feel this to be very true. I personally feel totally rejuvenated after fasting during the month of Ramadhan. Is this true with the others?
