Sunday 13 feb and Tuesday 15 feb saw sudden heavy rains in Dar es Salaam accompanied by some very strong winds.

I personally saw a few trees fallen partly and heard that in Mikocheni area light posts had fallen as well.

Near where I live my family members witnessed half a garage roof fly off!

What was the cause?

I have read that during the strong winds some golf players in Gymkhana took refuge under a 'banda'. A tree fell on the banda resulting in the death of one person who was a professor at UDSM

Here is a tree that fell across a brick wall. It took 3 days to clear it using chainsaw!
