Abu Talib (AS), the uncle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was a key supporter of Islam during its early years. As the Prophet's guardian, he protected and supported him against opposition from the Quraysh.
Despite pressure, Abu Talib remained steadfast in shielding the Prophet and the Muslim community. His sacrifices were vital to the survival of Islam, and although accounts vary on his formal declaration of faith, his actions reflect his deep commitment.
He passed away on 26th Rajab leaving a legacy of unwavering loyalty and dedication to truth.
When Ali informed the Prophet about the death of Abu Talib the latter wept bitterly. He directed Ali to arrange for his bathing, shrouding and burial ceremonies, and prayed to Allah for the salvation of the departed soul.
