A human heart is like a wild animal.if it develops a liking towards someone, it goes towards him. Though Man is a social being whose progress depends on cooperative work but he doesn't easily warm up to any unknown stranger. Friendship develops gradually through trust, respect appreciation etc.
Imam Ali (a.s) says, Man is a slave of his benefactor. But if one shows animosity, naturally hearts get repelled.
Holy Prophet (SAW) says three things increase affection (as they create friendship bonds): Meeting one another with cheerfulness, to give him due respect in a gathering & calling him with loving names.
