After being taken as captives to Kufa & Syria, when were Imam Sajjad and the ladies & children of Prophet Muhammad's household finally released from the prison in Syria (Shaam) & when did they reach Karbala?

Was it after 40 days of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his companions? Or was it after 1 year and 40 days?

According to what i have heard from our scholars is that there are two kinds of riwaayat.
One saying they were released in the same year and reached Karbala on 20th Safar i.e 40th of Shohada e Karbala and the other saying they were released after an year and reached Karbala on the above mentioned date.
