Salaam alaykum,
There is an online lecture this monday and tuesday, on the 12th Imam. Its reall nice.
I would reccomend it to all. Participation is free.. I have copied the details:
ALI 125: Understanding the Occultation of the 12th Imam (AS)
This course will include the following two sessions:
First Session: Understanding the principles and philosophy of occultation
· Introduction to understanding the Imam (AS)
· Birth of Imam (AS) – leading to Imamat
· Death of 11th Imam (AS) – Day of Imamat
· Ghaibat-e-Sughra - 4 appointees
· Establishing principles for
· Understanding Philosophy of Miracles
· Filtering all Ahadith related to Ghaibat and Reappearance
Second Session:Ghaibat-e-Kubra; Signs of reappearance and 'correct' interpretation
· Understanding his 'absence' and 'presence' amidst us
· Letters written to Shaykh Mufid (RA)
· Indefinite Signs and its interpretations
· Definite Signs and its interpretations
· Day of Reappearance
· His helpers – Ansaar – and establishment of the promised Kingdom
Eligibility: Muslim ages 15 and over
Instructor: Mustafa Jaffer
This course will be offered on two occasions to cater for students worldwide:
* For North American Students:
Dates: Saturday May 12th and Sunday May 13th, 2007
Timings:12.00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. EST (Toronto, New York, Orlando)
9.00 a.m.- 10.00 p.m. PST (Vancouver, Seattle, Los Angeles)
* For International Students:
Dates: Monday May 14th and Tuesday May 15th
Timings:7.00 p.m. - 8.00pm GMT (London)
9.00 p.m. - 10.00 p.m. East (Africa)
11.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m.PST (Vancouver)
If someone in North America finds the timings for the International Students more convenient they are welcome to register for that session.
