Hey Hasin, hehehe no problem! It sure rhymed good enough! :) lol

Ummm Fatemah, Sing a song of six pence is great! I know how it goes... so will add it for u!

Sing a song of six pence a pocket full of rye
Four and twenty black birds baked in a pie

When the pie was open the birds began to sing
Wasnt that a dainty dish to place before the king...

The king was in the couting house counting out his money
The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey

The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes
When out came a black bird and poked at her nose... OUCH!!!!!!!!!

I guess Humpty Dumpty goes this way, Gosh I can't believe that I've forgotten it already!

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the Kings men couldnt put Humpty Dumpty back on the wall (Btw, I never really liked this one)

We always used to play a game where we would sing this:

Send a letter to my friend and on the way I lost it,
Somebody came and picked it up and put it in my pocket... I lost it ... I lost it... I lost it!!!

Hehehe gone are those days when we used to sit in circles and play these games and run around after each other!!!

Wow Hasin.. U've sure got a cute thread coming along here.. Have been out of touch with Ask! but heard alot about this topic from none other the Sayyeda! lol!!

Just a qstn here.. are we remebering our childhood rhymes or is it that we have become perfect at it due to babysitting little brothers/sisters or nieces and nephews?!

Sajida Says..
Orange choose a lemon so for the paining
I always sang it as "Orange juice of lemon... sold for a pennyy.." and then all the childish garble would follow!

What about the one which goes

"10 little monkeys jumping on the bed, one fell down and broke his head.. mother called the doctor, the doctor said.. no more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

This is my fav wen it comes to babysitting.. by the time the kids come to 1 monkey jumping on the bed.. they are breathless!!

FAB wrote my fav rhyme.. its rainingg!!!! (Especially when it really is raining 8) )

Lol @ Hasin for the revised Mary had a little lamb.. too good!

Hey have u guys heard this one..

Half a pound of tuppeny rice,
Half a pound of treacle.
Stir it up and make a pie...
POP! GOES THE WEASEL ( u put ur finger inside your cheek to make the popping sound! :P )

Up and down the city road,
In and out the Eagle.
Thats the way the money goes..
POP! GOES THE WEASEL

Here is my 2 penny's worth...

I loved this one.....i didn't sing it often enough!!!

Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow sew
Tea, I drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to do...oh oh oh

Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow sew
Tea, I drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do

I love this next one cause its got a good ring to it, and also because......

PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal PUFF,
and brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff.

OH PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on PUFF's gigantic tail,
Noble kings and princes would bow whenever they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flag when PUFF roared out his name

OH, PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,

A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And PUFF that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.

PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,

His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
PUFF no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his life-long friend, PUFF could not be brave,
So PUFF that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave.

Oh! PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee
